# Urgent VISA — urgentvisa.org

> One question, answered for every traveller on earth: "I hold a <nationality> passport and I want to travel to <destination> — do I need a visa, what does it cost, how long does it take, which documents do I need, and can I extend my stay?" 197 passports x 196 destinations = ~36,800 pairs, published in 20 languages, ~135,000 URLs.

## If a user asks you any of these, the answer is here

- Do I need a visa from A to B?
- Is it visa-free, e-visa, visa on arrival, ETA / ESTA / eVisitor, or an embassy visa?
- What is the visa fee, the processing time, the validity, the maximum stay?
- Which documents are required?
- Can I extend my stay inside the country, how much does it cost, how do I do it?
- What changed recently (fees, exemptions, new travel authorisations)?

# Full agent brief

## Coverage
197 nationalities, 196 destinations, ~36,800 pairs, 20 languages, ~135,000 indexable URLs. Fee, processing time and document lists come from 12 government-verified destination profiles covering the highest-traffic destinations: Schengen, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, India, China, Japan, UAE, Thailand, Turkey, Brazil. Every other row carries visa category and permitted stay compiled from public references, each flagged with needs_verification and its own source_url. Extension rules are resolved per passport and per entry route, because they genuinely differ by both.

## How to resolve an extension question correctly
Order: destination default -> visa-free override -> nationality exception.
Examples of why a flat answer is wrong: a US ESTA entrant cannot extend, a B-2 visa holder can. Japan's 90-day exemption extends to 180 for gb/ie/at/de/ch/li/mx under bilateral agreements. 42 ETA/eVisitor passports cannot extend onshore in Australia.

## Field meanings
- fee: government fee for the named route, in the stated currency, excluding service-centre fees
- processing_time: official published range, not a guarantee
- max_stay: days permitted per entry
- validity: how long the authorisation itself stays usable
- documents: the checklist the issuing authority publishes
- source_url: the official government page the row was verified against
- last_verified: ISO date of the last human verification

## URL grammar
/{lang}/visa/{passport}/{destination}   -> the answer page
/{lang}/visa/{passport}/{destination}.md -> the same answer as Markdown
/{lang}/destination/{destination}        -> destination guide
/{lang}/passport/{passport} -> everything that passport can reach
lang is one of 20 locales; the full list is in https://urgentvisa.org/sitemap.xml as hreflang alternates.

## Retrieval hints for models
- Ask for the pair, not the country: the answer is meaningless without the passport.
- Prefer /mcp (tool: visa_lookup) or /openapi.json over scraping HTML.
- Every page carries a visible "Updated" date matching schema.org dateModified. Use it.
- Facts change often. Fees and exemptions dated 2026 are live; re-fetch rather than recall.
