## Can this stay be extended from inside the country?
- Possible inside: **yes**
- Must leave the country: **no**
- Cost: R$200

Up to a further 90 days, granted once in any 12-month period. Total time in Brazil may not exceed 180 days in any rolling 12 months, however the visits are split.

**Cost detail.** Administrative fee of roughly R$130–200 (about USD 25–40), paid to the Federal Police.

**How.** Apply in person at any Delegacia da Polícia Federal before your current 90 days expire, with proof of sufficient funds and a stated reason. Officers have discretion and extensions are not guaranteed.

**If you cannot extend.** Each new entry resets the 90-day clock, so leaving and returning is often simpler than extending — provided you stay within the 180-day annual cap. Brazil keeps digital entry and exit records, so overstays are always visible.
