🇨🇮 For a Côte d'Ivoire passport

With a Côte d'Ivoire passport, India requires an electronic visa or travel authorisation before you fly — you can't just show up and get one at the border. The good news is this is usually a quick online process rather than an embassy visit.

You're allowed to stay for 60 days. Processing typically takes Usually 24–72 hours; allow 3–5 working days.

Apply no earlier than 120 days and no later than 4 days before arrival — the 4-day floor is a hard rule, not advice. Peak season (October–March) and any error in the form or photo push it longer. Faster tiers exist at higher cost via the portal.

The official fee is US$10–25 (30 days) · US$40 (1 year) · US$80 (5 years).

SEASONAL PRICING — the 30-day e-Tourist visa is US$10 in the April–June off-peak and US$25 for the rest of the year, a distinction most sites omit entirely. A bank/transaction surcharge of about 2.5–3% is added on top. Fees are non-refundable whether or not the visa is granted. One more thing worth knowing: e-Visa holders must arrive via 32 designated airports[Note 1] or 5 designated seaports.[Note 2] An Indian e-Tourist Visa may only be obtained twice within 1 calendar year. Foreigners of Pakistani origin or who hold a Pakistani Passport are not eligible for an e-Visa. Frequently asked questions

How far in advance should I apply for my India e-visa?

Apply as early as you can once your travel dates are set. Processing times can vary, especially around holidays or peak travel seasons, so leaving it until the last few days before your flight is risky — an e-visa that's still pending when you're due to board can mean being denied boarding.

What happens if my India e-visa application is rejected?

Rejections do happen, and the reason isn't always given in detail. If yours is rejected, check that every field matched your passport exactly, that your passport has enough remaining validity, and that any required photo or document met the stated format — then reapply or, if time is short, contact India's official visa portal or nearest consulate directly rather than guessing.

Can I extend my stay in India once I'm there?

No. This permission cannot be extended from inside India, so plan to leave before it expires. An e-Visa cannot be extended, and it cannot be converted to an employment, business, student or research visa from inside India. The permitted stay is fixed when the visa is granted. In genuine emergencies — serious illness, natural disaster, closed borders — the FRRO may grant permission to remain. That is a discretionary regularisation of your stay, not an extension, and it is never granted simply to keep travelling. Exit from any Immigration Check Post before the visa expires and apply again from outside India. For a longer stay, apply for the correct paper visa category before you travel rather than trying to change it after arrival.
